The iconic Bridport Electric Palace, a much-loved landmark dating back to 1926, is set to make history as it opens its doors for the very first Wedding Showcase & Events Open Day. Taking place on Sunday 29th March 2026, this special one-day event invites engaged couples, families, and the wider community to experience the theatre’s breathtaking beauty, rich heritage, and remarkable potential as a wedding and events venue.
This landmark occasion marks a significant new chapter for the Electric Palace as it approaches its 100th birthday. In nearly 100 years of welcoming audiences, the theatre has been a cultural focal point for Bridport — and now, for the first time, it will showcase how its flamboyant, atmospheric spaces can be transformed into an unforgettable setting for modern weddings and celebrations.
Guests will be free to explore the theatre’s original period features and unique interiors, all beautifully dressed and styled to inspire couples planning their big day. From ceremonies and receptions to evening celebrations, the showcase will demonstrate how vintage glamour can seamlessly blend with contemporary elegance.
The Theatre Bar will be open throughout the day, while a carefully curated selection of trusted local wedding and events suppliers will provide an immersive and interactive experience. Visitors can gather inspiration across floristry, décor, photography, entertainment, and more, as well as meet the venue team, ask questions, and imagine how their own wedding story could unfold within these historic walls.
The Wedding Showcase & Events Open Day is free to attend, though tickets must be booked in advance. Entry slots are available throughout the day, including a quieter lunchtime session designed to support visitors with neurodivergent requirements.
