Bridport Young Performers present Beauty & the Beast The Musical…

Beauty and the Beast the musical is a story of love, determination and acceptance. It follows our protagonist Belle as she goes on a journey to rescue her father Maurice, who has been taken captive by the mysterious Beast. Upon finding him trapped in his castle, she exchanges his imprisonment for her. She begins to learn more about the curse that has left guest and house staff as objects, waiting for true love to break the spell placed on their master to return them to human form. With time running out and the arrogant Gaston trying to win Belle’s hand, will the curse be broken?

About BYP: Bridport Young Performers is a youth theatre group run by young people, for young people ages 9-25. The company aims to develop their member’s performance and personal skills through workshops, trips, performance opportunities and their annual Christmas show, performed at The Bridport Electric Palace. Previous shows include ‘Charlie and the Chocolate factory’, ‘The Addams Family’ and ‘Oliver!’. They also regularly fundraise and get involved in local initiatives to make their shows the best they can be, and contribute towards their scholarship fund, which allows members to engage in further tuition in the performing arts. With over 50 young people onstage and behind the scenes, the company hope you enjoy ‘Beauty and the Beast’, the show they’re hoping will be their best yet!
