From the moment you join the performers as they walk into the theatre, you’ll be transported into a circus-themed world for an incredible musical story of good versus evil and little versus large. Opera but not as we know it, FLEA! tells the story of the devious and exotic ringmistress of an extraordinary flea circus.
Hester Goodman from the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain plays Madame Celine, in a show written by award-winning composer Andrew Dickson and directed by Niki McCretton, from an original idea by Sally Vaughan. This community production is conceived and managed by a high calibre team of experienced artistes supporting a community cast of more than 100 local people (plus a few dogs), alongside professional performers and musicians. It’s suitable for families and people of all ages.
UkuleleOpera has been funded by Bridport Electric Palace, Arts Council England, West Dorset District Council and Bridport Town Council.
